Doesn't show in AMS2
Hi all. Newbie here, Just bought fpsVR, but can't see overlay in AMS2. It's running in background instead. I launch AMS2 from Steam app, and choose to run game in SteamVR mode, but still getting error message on PC that this app use Oculus, and it doesn't show performance overlay ingame, but instead, in background. Using also OpenVR FSR. Don't know if that can mess something.

Please read Q&A topic.
No matter how you launch the game, even if you launch it from VR in SteamVR, some games will still use the Oculus API in this case as well). The Oculus API does not support overlays from background apps and probably never will.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

shame, I've read on reddit, on AMS2 subreddit, and few guys recommended the app for monitoring the frames, especcialy with VR mods. Thought it's compatible.
Thx anyway.

It is possible that the game can be launched with OpenVR, but just because you run it from Steam does not mean that it will choose OpenVR API

You can force to open Steam VR in OVR Advanced settings, which I did. Got rid of desktop message that I'm not runnig it Steam VR API, but still, it doesn't shows overlay in game.
Thanks Sergio

I'm not sure what setting you are talking about in OVR Advanced settings.

To give you an idea of how fpsVR detects that the game is using the Oculus API:
it sees that a non-SteamVR process is the current process that sends frames to Oculus. And at the same time, nothing happens in the SteamVR events. So the game connects to Oculus and sends frames there. And it doesn't connect to SteamVR. There can be no mistake in principle.

Hi guys, I got AMS2 to force launch into steamVR finally! I had to go to the AMS2.exe in steam folders and force it to run in windows 7 compatibility mode.

By the way, this trick is described in the Q&A topic
