How can I equip a spell?

As per the title says.
I go to a shrine but I just can't equip a spell, any spell. Can someone explain me, step by step, how do I do that?

You have to find a scroll for a spell first, to learn it. Then you can equip it at a shrine (if you meet all requirements like willpower or intelligence). And then you can use it.

So, the shrine is just where you show up when you die? I don't see any mechanism regarding spells on that menu. I see Level Up and Atone for Sins.

Spells can be equipped anywhere.

Just go to your menu, click the pentacle (you may call it a pentagram) then connect the echo stone nodes for the corresponding spell that you want. The connections needed can be looked up in the spellbook (button at the bottom). These connections can either be learned by finding a scroll or by shear luck in randomly connecting nodes.

Once you've connected an appropriate set of nodes you'll see a spell icon pop up down in a blank memory slot at the bottom. This icon will initially be faded with a plus icon over it. Just click the icon to finalize the equipping of the spell.

no, you don't have to find the scroll for a spell to learn it. You can actually just enter the code for the spell on your pentagram, and if it is a new spell, it will automatically be recorded into your spellbook. there is a list of gestures for spells in this forum if you search for it. Swich to your echo stones menu (the thing that looks like a star), and manually enter the gesture for any spell there.
If this is all too confusing for you, there should be some youtube videos showing people using spells, and that will click for ya.

No one who has responded to this question has answered it.
He asked how to EQUIP a spell not how to DISCOVER one. I have several spells but my spell book is stuck on the first "douse" spell - So, as op said...how do i EQUIP a spell? I have tried clicking on discovered spells on both pages of the creation screens the one just removes itself from the slots and the other does nothing at all.

EDIT. The answer was mouse wheel.
