While this means we'll be able to implement more complex house rules in the future, it means that we weren't able to carry over many from 4th Edition for launch.

another kinda neat idea i had was players being able to respawn as new characters till there's no new characters to respawn as left, having characters that died be eliminated from the respawn pool, eventually leading to no one being able to revive anymore because there's no unused characters left.
Or like, there's 12 characters currently, So each player in a 6 player match could have 2 lives, a beginning character and a back-up, stock style perma-death.
