Complaining about the graphics is crazy. There is a reason

The graphics of recent Stronghold games have been generally poor i feel. Tbh the best games in the series have been the 2D games especially Stronghold Crusader.

Cartoon graphics allow developers to create a better looking product for much less cost. Doing high quality realistic graphics in an RTS especially is super costly and Firefly isn't really the biggest studio.

Honestly i think the cartoony graphics style is a big step up in quality from the other 3D stronghold games. It is the way indie studio's are moving since it offers the best quality to price ratio.

Though i would have loved to have seen the series return to a realistic 2D style. But that's just me

You're right but surely they have control over colours and brightness which is the main concern of people. Who wants to buy a £30,£40 or even £50 mobile looking game? If like you say, a small studio cutting costs then this has to be seen in the consumer price also, i.e making it a £15 game.

Spot on! You don't mind wannabe funny AOE online graphics if it is fremium or 10 EUR game.

I don't think you understand how much it costs to employ a whole game studio. It's expensive stuff. Firefly are doing a really good job with the resources they've got.

Not acceptable. I want good graphics such as those in Stronghold Crusader or beautiful graphics such as those in Stronghold 3. I do not want Civilisation 6 style bad graphics.

Firefly is an alchismist who know the secret how change gold in lead.

They had gold in the hand 20 years ago, and made the big mistake after crusader to switch on a 3D engine. I think it is still the same they will use for stronghold Warlord, despite it wasnt even good in 2005. Stronghold 2 wasnt a so bad game, campaign was ok, but AI and pathfinding made it inferior to previous game.

Perhaps more important switching to 3d killing any hope for skirmishers to have larger maps they needed. You cant at the same time switch to 3D make larger maps and give more confortable units cap.

As result stronghold 2 started a series of games, that at the same time, was a disapointement for skirmishers and for solo scenario whatever siege maps and invasions maps.

During all this time people still play activly game like age of empire 2. Worst of all, the closest successor to stronghold and crusaders, had a success warlord can only dream. It is roughly like a stronghold 1 freebuild game ; banished.

I also wish they would go back to 2D. Everything after Stronghold Crusader 1 was not good in my opinion.

I'm still playing Stronghold 1 & Crusader 1. Everything after that for a maximum of 60 minutes and then uninstalled it.

my opinion about this is not about stronghold warlords specifically but for games in general, i take 3D graphics over 2D graphics without a doupt, this includes the stronghold series.

Wow this game looks like a step down.
And that is besides the fact I'm not sure I like the asian look compared to the medieval one.
