The game itself has interesting mechanics and every match I've played this far has needed a lot of thinking in order to win it.
At least seemingly it's not possible to just aggro fast wins thanks to the endurance mechanic and split health pools. Also the balance of cards seems rather healthy at least with the ones I've used or got to play against.

Monetization then again is whole another issue, the developers seem to not realize that Hearthstone's grindy gameplay model is not very fun for players to experience and yet they decided to make an even worse one. Firstly, the starting cards you will get will let you make almost precisely one deck which forces you to just put all the cards you have into it without thinking of the synergies. Secondly, crafting costs are way too high in comparison to how difficult it is actually to earn any rewards, the quests seem obnoxious and hardly reward anything, if you are unlucky you might get 3x 150 gold quests which don't let you even get ONE pack(500g) with them. And that's three days wait then, getting 250 gold quests is still 2 quests for just one pack as well. Sure there are some rewards for increasing your mythology levels and unlocking new leaders that way is quite cool but it's still not much.

Another thing that baffles me monetizationwise is how much effort they have wasted into trying to force people to spend something this early on, when the game really needs all the development time it can get: There are annoying as hell pop-ups which show one-time-only offers to get cards which would let you play some other archetypes in the game rather than what the very limited basic collection offers. This feels very mobile-ish tactics and makes the game look cheap.

A second thing which hits me in the face is the way they designed their ingame shop: they force you to scroll through all the offers they have before letting you purchase the packs with the in-game currency, which really is the only reason you opened the shop at this point. I guess they think for some reason that people will spend more if you force them to look at your offers every time you want to get a slight increase in your collection, but this instead creates the contrary and makes the few players annoyed as well.

They also don't have any realization of what their starter product is actually worth: they have promised a ridicilous amount of features which in my opinion are going to take years to implement properly if at all, and then they are trying to somehow "sell" some of these features as expansions with almost Hearthstone price level??!

The game has promised many different factions as mythologies and at start they only had 3 "ready", and now when they are introducing a new one they are selling the cards as some kind of pre-order when this is actually content they are suppose to already have in the game, not some expansion. And considering that there are literally around 5 average players of the game, and because of this no possibility to even try their new draft mode as there are no players, asking 35€ for some cards in an EARLY ACCESS game is just laughable.

The developers just seem to lack the intelligence in order to see how asking insane prices of items in a game which isn't even nearly ready can affect the few possible would-be players. To me it just shows that this game company is trying to just build a card game and mimick what large companies do without a care in the world about what is actually enjoyable for the player, and I will assume that is how it will also be in the future unless they come to some realization about this.

Graphics in the game seem decent, but there is nothing special about them, don't expect to see amazing animations, most of the stuff is quite plain this far but character imagery isn't half bad.

The UI is quite standard when it comes to game modes and stuff, in the game itself there are things which confuse me and some rampant bugs which hopefully will vanish over time but mostly the actual gameplay is enjoyable, if you are lucky enough to find an opponent that is.

At the state the game is now I sadly cannot recommend the game, mostly because of the monetization they have chosen to elect and the promises they have given which are yet to be anywhere near being kept. I hope in the future this review can be changed to positive but at the moment I have to wait for that change.

My short review:

As a long time TCG/CCG player I can confirm that World of Myths is definitely worth trying by everyone who likes card games and turned based strategy games in general. I had the privilege to test the game out for 100 hrs (up to date) and I would describe the game as fun, strategic and in the same time it brings some new and unique mechanics on the table. It can't be described as similar to any other game in the genre and believe me - I've played quite a few other games ;)

More analysis:

Those of you who are more experienced will quickly notice that the RnG in this game is almost non-existing. Another important fact to confirm is that this is one of the very few card games where it is actually more important how you wield your deck rather than just having the right cards in your collection. For example, I was using a deck, built mainly using common and rare cards, half of them coming for free with installing the game, having only 2 epic cards in my whole deck and just one legendary... This deck has over 80+% win rate (edit: this was Season 1 and 2).

It is confirmed by other testers that one and the same deck can have either very high or very low win rate, depending on the person who is using it. This applies for the card games genre in general, but the difference here is that in very few card games you are able to win relying mostly on your own personal skills rather than on your collection.

The art style is also amazing and it is definitely worth checking! А+++

I would like to recommend this game, but sadly it seems to be one of the greediest ccg's I've ever seen in my life, and I've played a LOT of ccgs. The gameplay itself is quite interesting and does provoke thought, but I am immediately turned off by just how much they push their starter packs and stuff like that. What makes it worse is that it's only in early access and they are already giving off such a bad impression. DEVS, please, please, pleeeaaase. You need to adjust yourselves and quickly or your game is going to fail.

It's a card game, you know what to expect, here's what you want to know:
- the mechanics are good
- the meta is interesting
- the economy is good (took me about 10 hours of grind before I got 2 very strong decks ready to go <-that's a small amount of time)
- the pay to win is minimal, but there is some great value on a few things
- there is A LOT of free stuff, to get you started
- the community is good, devs answer and listen to suggestions in the discord
- streamer support seems low, but it is picking up
- requires more thinking than HS and less knowledge of cards and mechanics than MTG

As the game is now, I can't recommend it to anyone. First, the tutorial is sorely lacking. It seems to assume players have played these types of games before so no explanation should be made other than how to play cards, make attacks, and defend. Endurance and how combat works should be explained better than it has been explained in the tutorial. It would have saved me from a lot of trial and error had a better explanation have been made.
The swipe mechanic, to declare attackers and defenders is horrible. It took multiple attempts to make the declarations actually register and in the attempts accidents in declaring units I didn't want to use were made. Which brings me to not being able to undo mistakes is a horrible choice.
There's also a horrible bug in the game where no attackers or defenders could be made or cards played. It made the game unplayable for multiple turns and I had to quit the match.

This CCG has both a similar structure and similar artistic feel to Hearthstone, and for good reason - Blizzard has a winning formula. I have played a lot of CCGs in the past, including being a veteran of the original paper CCG, MtG in the 90s, despite this, the game still manages to feel quite fresh with its mechanics, and they seem to have purposely avoided dice roll mechanics, which just happens to be the biggest issue many players have with Hearthstone. This doesn't mean their approach is better, but it creates a point of difference. Perhaps due to the new mechanics, it feels quite complex, but it manages to keep the fun & charm where some other CCGs have failed, when trying to be more complex. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys CCGs

Fun mechanics with a decent variety. The Leaders have fairly unique powers that lend to certain styles of play, but with some room for variation.

Very good card game. Its unique with its own mechanics but very easy to get into. Easy to learn hard to master. Never borin turns without any decisions. Also prety generous free to play mechanics with tons of gods to level up just by playing them and having free stuff out of it and achievments giving titles or also free stuff. Nice comunity too (atleast on discord since there is no chat or anything like that ingame except emotes). Give it a shot its free and it even has slightly cheaper recycling than others games (specificaly hs so you get better value out of duplicates).

This is a great ccg where instead of just playing cards, you get to duel as gods from famous mythologies! Using iconic figures like Fenrir in the Norse mythology, or Helen from Greek mythology, you can destroy your opponents. The game is currently under development (will edit this later) but it is one of the best ccg's I have ever played. Also, it is a very free to play game. There are cosmetics that cost money, and you can buy cardspacks, but they give you enough rewards in game to build a full card collection. You can also earn the premium currency through in-game rewards, so you are able to buy the cosmetics f2p.
