Keeps saying Invalid CD Key

Every time I start the game. It states invalid cd key please enter. I copyed to clipboard and printed it out. Shows exacly what steam gave me but it still doesn't work.

I found out. If you start Doom 3 by iteself. Play a game to start. Then load Doom3: Resurrection of Evil then everything seems to work.

Doesn't really help me. I don't have doom 3 I had a CD version years from now and never played resurrection. That's why I bought it and now I cna't play it.

I had something similar, if I recall correctly you need to imput the key along with the one of Doom 3. (putting it below the key for Doom 3, not replacing it)

just wanted to check that you do realise that its not standalone and you need the main version to play.

Iknow this is an old thread so do forgive me but i own doom 3 and this expansion. i beaten doom 3 ages ago, its currently uninstalled and i just installed this expansion only and its working fine. i didnt have to install doom 3 again for it to work.

Just navigate to your Steam library, find original DOOM 3 game, right click on that, view CD keys. There you will find the required CD key. Write it down on paper, run RoE and paste in the first row ( ROE should have key inserted already ). No re-installation needed.

@sphynx990 tried that but original doom3 on steam won't install and when i try to get the cd key it show the on the menu but doesnt show the actual key. so cant use RoE. also trying to contact someone/anyone at steam is a bust, just keeps bouncing me around different self help pages and wont let me raise a request or email with steam
