DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil

DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil

anyone else find the "Delta Labs - Unknown" level......
rather depressing (but in a good way)??

especially with the constant flashing from normal to a hellish red

wat
play through that level again, and after clearing an area of enemies, just stop and look around while setting is constantly phasing in-and-out of normal and Hellish red.

It's a neat effect. It was also unfortunately removed from the BFG Edition.

Ya, that level is awesome. One of the best Doom levels ever made in terms of atmosphere.

my sentiments exactly!!! Whenever I enter the main hall (from "Delta Labs - Level 2B") where you fought your first Arch-Vile in the base game, is a clear example of this, where I couldn't help but stop and take it all in.

There is a bit of a Lovecraftian vibe isn't there? Kind of reminds me of the film The Void (2016) for some reason, when they're exploring the underside of the hospital with the red lighting and find all the suffering, mutilated humans/creatures. (Decent movie if you haven't checked it out!)

Oh yes, they did a superb job with the foreshadowing there.

and this is the main reason why I find this particular level almost as creepy as the Hell level that comes right after it
