DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil

DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil

ROE no longer working on Windows 10 (crashes at startup)
Tried to play resurrection of evil and it just shows the "initialising menus" splash screen and then just crashes to the desktop. I just finished playing Doom 3 which still works fine on Windows 10 and I remember playing ROE a few years ago so Im guessing a Windows update released sometime in the last few years has broken it.
I've tried googling a fix but cant seem to find anything. I've tried running it in compatibility mode but it didnt help.
Any suggestions?

If your Doom3 game still works what about starting Doom3 RoE expansion from within the Mods window in Doom3 Main Menu.

After Installing Doom3 and Resurrection of Evil...

  1. Right Click on the expansion called Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.
  2. Click on Properties.
  3. Click on the Local Files tab.
  4. Click on the Move Install Folder... button.
  5. Select the same drive that your Doom3 game is installed to
  6. Click on the Move Folder button.

This will move the RoE folder (d3xp) into the correct Doom3 game folder. and it should now work as normal.

helphelphelp! I found two files in the wrong folder and I copied those into my steam games folder: zpakv00.pk4 and td_improvements_d3xp.pk4. Now the splash screen says "enhanced edition". However the game won't start in Win10. After clicking "new game" the splash screen refreshes and there is no audio. solutions?
