Magix Music programs , Samplitude , Music Maker usually detect one of the sound cards
but usually NOT the system Default Sound card .

example :
you select Creative Labs sound card as the windows system Default sound card .
when playing a game , when you use an internet browser , you have sound because
those programs are using the Window's Default sound card that You set up .
however ,
Music Maker does NOT select the Default sound card .
there is an advantage to this :
you can have audio from your Browser using the Default windows sound card ,
while Music Maker has audio from one of your other sound cards .
Literally , 2 sound cards are running simaltainiouslly .
External speakers can have audio from your Internet Browser , while
you have Music Maker audio on Head Phones .

your best audio setup with the windows sound card properties is to use
16 bit , 44.1 khz sampling .
inside of Music Maker settings choose to use 44.1 khz at 16 bit .
the 44.1 khz clock is important , as the Sound Samples of the synthesizers
were recorded at 44.1 khz and thus the MIDI clock is 44.1 khz .
Also , ALWAYS render out as .wav 16 bit 44.1 khz
and you will have the very best CD audio quality .

you need to go into Music Maker Settings and Manually select a sound card.
you Must direct Music Maker to use a sound card of your choice , inside
of Music Maker audio settings .

also note , Music Maker takes Exclusive control of the sound card .
thus , when you set Music Maker audio settings to use the same sound card
as the Windows Defualt sound card , then All other programs are Locked out
of sound . That is why it is best to have 2 sound cards in the computer .
Realtet on board audio , TV speakers on HDMI ,...that is 2 sound card
choices .
