Not in the immediate future no. I definitely want to add steamworks support, but it is surprisingly quite a sizeable task on the ingame code side. Simply do not have the manpower for that at the moment sadly.
Once mods start coming in I will figure out a way and place of hosting them though.

Sales wise it might be a massive boon, I'd likely buy the game if I saw a few decent mods out to expand the game content though I usually do not check for mod availability outside steam.
Since this game is effectively a similar game to S.P.A.Z and no joke it’s a much better implementation of what they tried to do with the second instalment I wish you the best and look forward to picking up this game/DLC once it has some Steam workshop mods or maybe more content updates are out.
Will keep in mind for update's sake that if I get the time it will be well worth it to invest it into steamworks support.
