Issues with this game compared to Conception 2...
I bought this game because I really like Conception 2, but is it just me or is this game really... laggy, for lack of a better word? Conception 2 runs pretty smoothly on my computer, and the camera controls well with the mouse when I'm in dungeons.

I've literally only managed to go a few floors of the first dungeon in this game. The camera is crazy all over the place which makes moving around difficult, and when I DO get in battles, the action is a lot more stop-and-go as compared to the more smooth animations from 2. Not to mention that unlike 2, the PC version didn't bother to tell you what buttons everything is mapped to. There is a "help" button that I've figured out is 1, but the buttons it says everything is mapped to are certainly not for the computer. Thanks to Conception 2 I do know MOST of the correct buttons already since they're the same, but I notice there is a "toggle dash" button on the help menu that presumably allows you to move faster in the dungeon (right now the running speed is basically that old Spiderman meme. It's a snails pace), but I can't figure out what button it wants on the keyboard.

The game is honestly slow and rough enough that I noticed it in the "talking to girls" part but it was tolerable there. It's virtually unplayable it's so bad in the dungeons. Is this a problem with my computer (although I don't know why it would play Conception 2 just fine in that case), or are other people experiencing the same issues?

Conception Plus is a remake of the original PSP game intially released for the PS4. Conception II on the other hand was originally a Vita game. So Conception Plus requires higher specs than Conception II because it's using higher quality models, textures, and effects.

By the way, if you're on a laptop that has a dedicated GPU in addition to an IGP, make sure the game is running on your GPU to avoid any slowdown. And if you're stuck with an IGP, downgrade the graphics. Resolution in particular should have a noticeable performance impact.

About the keybindings, I don't play on keyboard, but you should be able to check and remap them in the launcher. Though I definitely understand that it is not convenient to have console prompts instead of keyboard ones; maybe explicitly switching the control scheme in the launcher can help with that, I don't know.
Thanks for the quick reply. I checked my laptop specs and it definitely seems like my processor just isn't good enough for this game, sadly. I've never had this issue before so I didn't realize what the problem was (I have several other games on my laptop that run fine, but thinking about it, they're all visual novels with only a little gameplay at most, so they probably don't require much processor power). I'll have to wait to play this game until I can get a better computer. I'm glad that it's just a personal problem so the game should be good for other people, at least.

You're welcome!

I've just checked the reviews and re-checked this forum, and there *are* apparently some rare performance issues, namely framerate drops and freezes. None of the people mentioning these talked about their PC build though, so there may or may not be a common factor causing the problem.

Also, sometimes specs are overblown. So it might not be your CPU at fault, but rather your GPU and/or RAM. Since you're on a laptop, chances are you only have an IGP, which can handle Vita games fairly nicely but might struggle with more recent games.

I'd still suggest trying to lower the resolution and other settings through the launcher, to see if it is possible for you to play the game without too many framerate drops.

Hope this helps!
