Clearly this is a common problem, but no fix from the developer.
I have logged a support request to see if I can get this looked at.
Installing to have a look...
Edit: Game started up in 4k and stays there. But I do remember problems when I bought it. I had a 1680 x 1050 ( 16:10 ) monitor. That sucked.
I wouldn't hold my breath regarding a fix. Game's years old by now.
This is what they said:
"Hi there,
Apologies for the late response. This is a known issue and we have a patch update that will potentially fix this. However, we are a bit swamped with work but we'll get it out as soon as possible!
For the moment, you can customise the resolution (not the ideal way though, of course):
Open regedit (Simply search for it in Windows)
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> No Code Studio -> Observation
Setting Dropdown_Resolution to decimal value 14 (hex 'e')
Setting Screenmanager Resolution Height & Width to your desired resolution
Apologies for the inconvenience,
NC"
Obviously only attempt this if you are confident to mess with the Windows registry.
This is entirely at your own risk. It would be wisdom to set a restore point beforehand.
also, once you've set this in regedit, leave the 'Observation' item highlighted on the LH side of the editor and use the 'export' option in the regedit menu, save the exported .reg file to desktop (name it something useful) and it will export the settings for Observation settings only. Then, before launching the game, just double click this .reg file (as if you were opening a program), accept the warning and it will load the resolution changes in without having to use regedit again. Much safer than re-editing the registry each time with the continuous chance of making a mistake.
