This game have a virus

it does not have a virus, if it did it wouldnt be on steam.

I try to verify installed exe, download this executable but the error turn back again.

It has to be a false positive then. Either way, you probably want to be playing on a more up to date source port anyway. Just delete the glh2.exe file and download the Hammer of Thyrion source port from here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/uhexen2/

Unzip the archive and copy / paste all files within into your Hexen 2 install folder(overwrite if prompted.)

You'll still be able to launch the game normally through Steam as the name of the new exe is the same.

You, sir/ma'am, helped me solve a problem that I've been losing my mind over. Ever since I got this game last week, I've been plagued by a black screen and no way to interact with the game. This was one of the quickest, easiest, and most concise fix I have ever found. Jokingly: Take a look at my games on Steam and you'll know that I've probably had a bit of experience modding and fixing broken games. xD

Dear Moderator that double taps this zombie post, I am so sorry - but I wanted to bring attention to this thread.

I'm sure there are others like me and OP that would need to know this info. Would be a cool thing to have a sticky on the forum for future enjoyers (?) of this game.

The only way to play these games is to source port them lmao! I think the only reason Steam sells these Great Old Games (pun intended hehe) is to provide the enthusiasts with a safe way to get their hands on the paid product to avoid piracy infringements lol!

After all, if you own the ROM, iWAD, INI, DLL, or EXE, then why not mod them?
