After getting the cursed Philosopher's Stone repeatedly from my Alchemy, I realized that the game hinted that I should fuse cards with the same color and rarity. So I combined my two identical 2* Animal Roar cards (basically the best cards in my deck), and it ate them too, and it cursed my deck, in the middle of battle.
This is a really dumb system if the designer wants people to actually keep playing their game. Either prevent new players from accessing the Alchemy system, and/or publish the Alchemy recipes, and/or display the risk and the consequences of failure.
Similarly, the Wheel of Fortune has given me three curses. What? Again, indicating probabilities would mitigate frustration of new players.
