So... Namkhan Archers or Rattan Vipers?
Like, both have basically the same role, shooting a lot and applying damage over time. But who is better at the job? Is bleeding better against certain enemies than poison? Who has the edge over the other archer?

Bleed can stack much higer then poison so bleed do much more dmg

Bleed does a bit more damage but vipers poison debuffs enemy's into near uselessness. Personally I like vipers more when fighting gold units.

Hm... Poison debuffs? Since Rattan Pike and Vipers are rather rare in the field I can't really remember how much damage it deals or how severe the poison really is. I see the namkhans often enough because they are easy to get for everyone, but Vipers?

Been ages since I got hit by those

Only vipers debuff, or should I say there the only ones with a noticeable debuff. It lowers damage and other stats based on how many poison stacks a target has when it comes to vipers. You should be able to see it somewhere either on there unit traits, level up path or the tech tree. Can't remember which but either way it doesn't tell you exactly what stats it lowers but you can find out by testing with someone pretty easily.

Huh. Is this the same poison/debuffs the Pikes and Repeater Crossbows give? Since the Marksmen can fire both poison and flaming bots with their crazy high fire rate that could be quite fun

Does not work very well on marksman to my knowledge its pretty much only useful on the vipers. If you check there bottom vet line it should make more sense.

I am not able to check right now but If I remember correctly the bottom viper lines apply s a 60% slow on poisoned enemy's and a 20% damage reduction per stack of poison and there poison stacks up to 5 times. While the damage reduction is capped to not hit 100% I think the cap was around 70ish% damage reduction penalty due to how its calculated.

Well, I'll give the Vipers a try~ Lowering the damage of a Maul or the Monks sure would be a great help before they just rush in and delete everything

Just remember to make sure you have there tech node called thickened poison. It also helps there poison debuff. If you have an arrow rain doc you should apply poison in mass very easily.

Namkhans :l_wing::magdis::r_wing: 5.5/10.0 - Can stack many bleeds, very good with arrow rain and range doctrines, can make a huge difference in pegging peoples units before fighting, as hitting wounded troops or cavalry is much easier.

:heartred: Health - 2k
:ACODC_Spartan: Unit count - 32/32
:brotherfist: Leadership - 180
:tire: Speed 5.0
:Trebuchet: Range - 89
:treasure_orochi4: Ammo - 1700

Now the piercing damage and pen has been reduced on these, so its lower but you can make it better with good doctrines. But overall still higher than Vipers. :brotherblood:

Vipers :l_wing::magdis::r_wing: 4.0/10.0 - Low tier debuff, arrow rain and ranged doctrines still apply but the damage is pretty low. :AetherRay:

:heartred: Health - 2k

:brotherfist: Leadership - 165
:tire: Speed - 5.3
:Trebuchet: Range - 87
:treasure_orochi4: Ammo - 1400

The Vipers are overall pretty low tier, I wouldn't recommend beefing them up, if you wanted to use archers, skip and get Vassel Longbows as these with good doctrines can do much better than both. :emoticon_Control:

Vipers all day considering you probably shouldn't be using either for damage anymore. And vipers are great support !

Vipers all the way, namkahans haven't done enough damage to justify there cost against purple and gold units for over 4 seasons now.

Alright alright, I'll give Vipers a try as soon as I have the space... :D I already have the Namkhans, but I never used them all that much. Maybe the Vipers see a bit more use

Namkhans are great as a "hey, see those enemy ranged units back there? target those plz n thx" but they don't stack enough DPS when compared to most other Blue 180 units. Very map-specific for me. The Rattan Vipers have an incredible damage and movement speed debuff they can apply to enemy units at a much higher speed with the faster fire rate, so I tend to run them on defense to harass cav.
