you cant respec weapons as weapons you unlock all skills associated with them anyway, you choose what skills go on hotbar, you unlock skill points seperate for weapons when you use that weapon, unless they are free skill points then you can use on any weapon free points are shown as orange on the skill page.

Yeah don`t worry as Kerm already explained. You unlock all skills anyway and if you want to change your weapon just buy that specific one for a few bronze and unlock its skill tree for 50 skill points.
You can have all weapons and skills eventually and swap "on the fly". Not during a match of course.
Unlocking skills isn`t the worst grind, it is bearable.

Thanks guys. I got to level 40 and I almost started a new character because I wanted to switch weapons. It's good to know that you can eventually master them all

Yeah the only one that is different is the maul..

You have to go to unit challenges go to i think season 2 it is to unlock the maul and its abilities.

Sad thing though about switching weapons vs starting over with said weapon is that at some point, your skillpoints gain stalls hard. You hit the Pay to Progress wall hard and it takes forever to actually unlock anything. Worse, since you are maybe level 50-60 when you decide to actually switch, you fight against players maxed out where you dont even have your Ult unlocked.
Its not game breaking but you sure start with a very big disadvantage when dueling or even clearing enemy units.

That is exactly what's happening to me. The grind for skill points is becoming brutal and I'm tempted to start over. I wish I knew how important it was to stick with one weapon when you start out.

Im thinking about it too and im level 65. That and leveling up units is becoming a chore because I leveled up bad ones and wasted my XP on those way too much.
Only thing going for me is that I mained spear, which has the same armor and stats as musket, the one i want to change to.
Honestly, I still held my own pretty well with my low level musket skillset BUT Im at least 2 weeks away from unlocking my Ult and I play every evenings so...
The only thing that holds me really back is all the silver I gained, plus the Path of "x" I unlocked and some were a pain in the ass.

I think that you should save your skill points and only use mastery points. This way when you want to try another weapons you will be able to unlock some skills and be somehow able to manage.

If that right, then good, Ill try this tonight.
Downside of this is that you gotta find groups to start a match and well ....some modes are barren so I dunno about training.

Nice thinking but again, progress is so friggen slow that at some point, if you want to move forward, you have no choice but to use those else its a grind of weeks only to unlock higher tier skills.

This is a thing like free points you can distribut to any weapon they are shown as orange numbers instead of white.

I dont know about that. Skilled Glaive and Poleaxe so far and it seems that those skill pretty quick. Maybe it depends on how much you hit with it? I usually slaughter enemy units in the frontlines and get like 150 points each battle.

Hmm..
I dont know honestly.
On my spear, I usually end up with lots of assists, but low kills and I feel like Im barely getting any skill points. Either I suck with it (which is why I would like to switch) or its made to deal sustain damage but not burst so my kills are always stolen. I dunno. I just know that even if it considered a good weapon, I pretty much do not like its playstyle. No CC, my ult always ends up missing cause the targetting is ♥♥♥♥ and people just dodges anyways. I played musket like thrice and I already feel in better control than with spear that Ive played from lvl 1 to 65.
