I have never seen charging T5 cav beating my braced Halberdiers - a T3 "pike" unit. Even Pike Miltia, while it has difficulties killing Hussars and Knights, it stops every other T5 cav easily.
Fact is, that morst players don't brace their units on time because they have tunnel vision and don't react to the approaching Kheshigs. Then they blame the unit for it, even though, it's just their lack of skill and battlefield awareness that caused them to get charged to death.
Proof please...
Fortebraccios kill any cav if charged from the front.
Imp Pikes defeat all but Hussars with advance easily.
Halb Sergs beat everything on a horse when braced.
My point is: your statement is pure fantasy.
the fact that cav barely need any momentum to charge when bracing unit take a good 2 sec to brace is also an added factor in the superiority of cav on any battle without tunnels and walls/
They're the fastest in the game, have the best, strongest and longest charge, and get a 20% Movement Speed Doctrine. It's ridiculous.
to this point i dont really play cav cause they can be stopped by so much, then i read this and think lol.
btw fire arrows stop them too if they dont have an skill. some archer can use fire arrows with some skills in vet tree aaaaand the new season unit can skill something that the fire will stay on the ground for some seconds (and i dont talk about the legendary unit) awesome to stop cav, if you still think its annoying get a musket player with a brain, the slow spikes that he can throw stop any cav charge and if you use that back jump you can throw 2 of them on the ground, enugh to stop an entire cav charge. i did that many times already stop heavy T5 cav on charge and we had no anti cav on troops, in the end all horses died lol
Having maxed most unit I never saw sergeant spearman man at arm or palace guards/imp spear and other unti with "cover chef" slow down my cav/or ennemy cav...
the only two unit I see that kind of reliably stop them even if they will die without killing any horsemen are fortebracio and pike milicia...
they do stop the cav but they will get raped after because they will struggle to deal the 10-15k damages necessary to kill a cav unit.
firearrow only work on low tier cav since max tier cav are resistant to it and dont stop when on fire.
for the caltrop it indeed can slow down charge enough to make them fail but its risky move usually and a predictable one.
Im talkign here about legendary cav anything below is kind of useless
Oh don't say that. You will summon the "But using Kheshigs takes skill!" person. He's around here somewhere.
They need to limit the amount of cav you can bring into battles, or nerf them down a bit making other units more viable and playable.
Frontaly!!!
another problem cav can pierce even very deep formation with ease not even being slowed down thus comboed with the slow attack anymations of melee troops they often barely take any damages.
Fixes which can be put into play to help - but won't because they really don't care:
- Limit the amount of horses a player can bring into a battle.
- This will cut the cavalry spam by half nearly instantly, forcing players to bring other units.
- Remove the ability to use Bronze to instantly pay for replenishment.
- This will ensure players will have to farm the horses, making them more costly and rare.
- Have modes to where you would not allow cavalry into them, unlikely.
- This would allow players that do not want to use or be abused by cav, to enjoy the game more.
There are other ways I am sure, but these are quick fixes that could be put into play within weeks to a month of patching and testing.
But lets all laugh at that, I have just recently come back to the game after over a year off, the servers were crap back then and their still crap now, figures right? Not to mention all the exploiters still around, I mean you've had over a year to tend to your crops, but you just let them wilt.
bro its way easier, spikes always stop cav, maybe not always kill but in the way the enemys look braced weapons should always stop if you ask me because of balance. and still the other way around if 5 horse teams attack bring 5 breced spears, you cant tell me that they stacked up wouldnt kill the cav or?
and yeah i dont talk about stop them, because of the skill it wont, i really talk about just insta kill them
