What Hero Class has the fastest mount speed?
So I changed servers and class yesterday. I was a lvl 42 on the other server, so
I’ve been playing enough to get a sense of what I can and can’t do. I went from a Musketeer to a Long Bowmen, wore either no armor or light armor(so no extra weight), but had the same starter mount. Right off the bat, I felt my mount was slower. I was being run down in cases I felt I would have normally gotten away.

Does Hero Class affect mount speed? Does Hero armor affect mount speed? Does Hero level affect mount speed? Which Hero Classes are the fastest on mounts from fastest to slowest?

Spear has an ability the makes the horse go faster a short distance, though i don't see why you would care about mount speed as its like 5% of the gameplay.

My play style is primarily mounted...easily 90% of the time.

I primarily want a fast mount, but I’d like some better anti-unit(anti-Hero too) capability while mounted if possible also.

There are only 2 70k mounts for sale at Mount merchant that are just a bit faster then default one.
To be fair mount is just a escape/tracking tool. I don't really see a reason why would you stay on horse 90% of time. On horseback you are 90% less effective killing units and heroes with only one exception when you are kiting with cavalry at the open field. This game is not designed for mounted combat and you should not handicap yourself and your team.
Equipment doesn't affect mount speed.
I mainly run Calvary. I use flanking with hit & run tactics on units. No need to dismount when I can use maneuver tactics to blind side a unit and wipe it on the hoof. Or pull a Hero into an ambush, then end-around back to the cap.

You guys have gotten so entrenched in your melee tactics, that you leave a gaping weakness to be exploited by Calvary if done right.

Yeah was just gonna say if you are running cav and you aren't on your horse you are doing it wrong lol. As far as the topic, I legit don't understand why sometimes my horses feel slower as I gallop and look behind to see a general catching up with sprint and other times I pull away without even trying.

I would guess that it's some kind of barely working terrain system affecting the speed but idk.

Spear and Glaive have special horseback fighting abilities. Your horse can also, to some extent, "tank" for you.

Spear has a "charge" attack that can be used when out of stamina to continue moving faster than a gallop, as well as hitting a lot of units easily. It also has a special right-click attack that hits very precisely for a lot of damage. The dismount attack also stuns.

Glaive has a special attack that hits 2-3 times in a wide area, and a right click attack that hits everyone around him once. The dismount attack also stuns.

Don't get me wrong, as I said when guiding cavalry its fine but most of us play siege battles. At siege battles cavalry is very situational.

Yes, Spear and Glaive have abilities but running 90% of time on those CD-s is not effective as they are not game changers.
