Sikkmod destroys my graphic, why?

i can't use sikkmod because it totally destroys my graphics. does anyone have same problems or advice?

when i turn on any option it zooms in, everything is blurry but in very weird way, when i turn on ssao, i have completly white screen with crosshair. even when i don't turn on any graphic option, graphic is broken for example where picture shoud be disorted behind lost souls or any fire, like exhaust from spaceship, or around bfg projectile is strange mirrored picture. see here:

btw i don't have any problem when i run doom 3 without sikkmod.

To disable Catalyst AI:
Method 1:
- Open up AMD Vision Engine Control Center
- Click on Preferences, then Advanced
- Select Gaming on the left, then 3D Application Settings
- Scroll down to Catalyst A.I.

I have no clue why but this mod isn't working. I create an seperate doom 3 profil in Catalyst with the settings you named but it won't work :-/

thats how to turn CCC ai off, but i started getting those distorted textures after a gaming sesh. even with CCC ai off. i just called it quits with these mods, they don't want to work for radeon cards.

Agreed. Spend the last 3 hours trying to get Sikkmod to work. Just doesn't work (ever?) with Radeon HD7870.

I had the same problem with the Doom 3 Sikkmod, a known issue with ATI graphics cards. Blocky shadows, missing textures, stretched visuals and if HDR is set on in the mod settings, a white screen. I tried disabling Catalyst AI in the AMD Vision engine control centre but that didn't work. I have now disabled CatalystAI in the registry and the Sikkmod mod now looks great. To do this, edit the catalystAI key values as below.

Start-> Run
Type:- regedit and press Enter.
In the registry, click on the Edit option and select find. Do a find on 'catalystai'. This will take you straight to the catalystAI key setting in location "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Cur­rentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002­BE10318}\ 0000? (or 0001) \UMD\"
Now just right click on CatalystAI, click modify and change the "CatalystAI" key value: 32 (or 31) to 30 and then change the CatalystAI_DEF key value below it from 1 to 0 and exit

When you next launch Doom3, the Sikkmod should work fine.

I have the same problem with Doom 3 without mods on an AMD 7950, i tried to desactivate Catalyst A.I but the problem remains. This really sucks!!!

OuchOfDeath solution worked for me. I just renamed DOOM3.exe to foo.exe and I created a batch to use foo.exe +set fs_game sikkmod.
Totally worked. Thanks a lot for the hint!

There's a much easier solution to this problem. Simply rename doom3.exe to something else. Catalyst Control Center AI applies its optimizations to games (which can cause bugs such as this one) based on the exe name only.

Renaming the file was the only thing that worked for me. But why is that? I would like to have my play time counted on Steam as well to be able to upload screenshots without much work. I know how to do it, but I don't want to. I want to use the normal way.

So, why the same executable will glitch while if it is renamed won't? Man, I really hate AMD, ffs, HOW I hate that trash.
