So I do appreciate what they were doing.
2016 isn't a reboot it's a continuation from doom 2 & 64. You also don't own doom 3 & have 43 minutes in 2016. Understand what you're talking about before posting.
DOOM 3 is the reboot & is not connected to 2016 at all. 2016 is a continuation of doom 2 & 64. Pretty sad that you have to steal from the devs for a game you love so much.
1.At that time no one could run the game at 60 FPS.
2.Not everyone had mouse and so a lot of people were forced to play via tank controls.(Slower aiming controls)
3.The game also had scary music in some levels and some scary looking sprites and textures.(By today's standard it might look fake but it looked kinda scary when it was new)
4.Doom 1 also had jump scare moments(monster closets)
and playing with just keyboard wasnt *THAT* slow since you just have to turn left and right an aiming is generous. look at john remero playing on keyboard he keeps up with mouse players
doom 1 initially was found scary by people, but people werent scared of doom by the time doom 2 came out
Yes! Someone who agrees with me, I definitely thought it was action horror game. The music that gave a sense of dread and plenty of moments where you weren't mowing down loads of monsters.
