how do i enter the game?

whenever i open the game it asks for my CD key but i dont have one or dont know where to find it. So where can i find the cd key to enter the game

Run the expansion game Resurrection of Evil, wait until you get to the menu, quit the game, and then start Doom 3. Some older games just have weird quirks I guess, but that should be all that's needed.

From a today's perspective, you're probably better off installing dhewm3[dhewm3.org]. Proper wiedescreen, bug fixes, and new graphics tech.

If you do, I'd recommend to deactivate OpenAL though (you can do that in the ingame menu, just deactivate EAX). It sucks big time. 😂 Really, it's just reverb slapped over the voiceovers, and, in a really bad manner, which totally not fits the environments the NPC's are in.
