software to make a doom 3 gif

I have some video of doom 3and I want to make a short gif out of it but I don't know what kind of software I should use to convert the video from mp4 to gif. can anyone help me?

I use ScreenToGif, it has been very useful to me for several years now.

Further, I want to upload it was artwork on steam, which allows a maximum filesize of 5MB. I don't think I can do this.
