OpenGL/DirectX error
before i installed windows 10 I could play Doom3 on the medium graphics option and to clear i have DirectX 10 not OpenGl But now for nostalgia reasons i decided to play doom3 again but when i try to luanch Doom3 i get a wonderful error messgge. The error message basically said i do not have the required version of OpenGl(or in this case none)and that the quality is going to drop down in quality thats even lower than the Antlantic ocean floor(aka low quality with what seems to be very low polygon models and no sign of shading in lighting or textures) and thats exatly what i witnessed.I was wondering if anyone can help me with this error/bug and my specs are(please do not make fun of my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ computer) :

Processor: Intel(R)Core(TM)2 Duo CPU 2.53ghz(each)
Installed Memmory: 3.00 GB (2.90 usable)
System type: 32-bit Operating System,x64-based processor

The game runs on OpenGL and not Direct3D so, This error means that you didn't update your graphics card driver yet, what's your graphics card model so i can give you a link for it's driver .

The Model of the graphics card, not the model of WDDM it runs on, check it out this way, i need your graphics card model to help you updating it http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/36253

I Just gave you the link for the utility because you didn't give me the right model for your graphics card, how bout using the next tool download and install it, it should detect your graphics card model and give you a correct driver download http://devid.info/

Great, now Run Doom 3 and set the graphical settings you would like to use (normal/high/ultra high), save and exit the game. When you restart the game your settings should be applied except the resolution and AA settings in the advanced options.

Exit your game again and change into /steamapps/common/doom 3/base/ directory. Create a new file called autoexec.cfg (pay attention to the corrent filename extension here). Add this content to it and save it:

r_mode "-1"
r_aspectratio "2"
r_customwidth "1680" //Screen Width
r_customheight "1050" //Screen Height
seta r_multiSamples "16" //set it to 0 if it lags your game
vid_restart

These settings are to force 1680x1050 (Widescreen 16:10) and AA 16x. If you want another resolution, edit the values above and be sure to choose the correct aspect ratio mode ("2" for 16:10, "1" for 16:9).

Run the game and press CTRL+ALT and the key directly beneath ESC (Usually tilde) and write "Exec autoexec.cfg" and play .

Hope it works for you as it did to me, even though I'm not very satisfied with the way you have to manually fix your bought retail games to properly run them
