CD Key not working

So I recently went to go play Doom3,the problem began when it told me to put in my cd key so i cancelled out of the game to check the cd key.I copied the cd key to clipboard unfortunately it didnt show up on clipboard so I cancelled out again and did the same thing but that time I decided to write down the cd key so I did and i did't work.I tried to rewrite and test the key over and over for about 3 times until I just gave up.Could anone please tell me how to fix this error/glitch than I'll be very thankful.

Maybe you typed it in wrong. Try using keyboard shortcuts. Copy the CD key with the button then when in game press CTRL + V to paste it in.

Sounds like you have RoE, but haven't run it yet. You need to run D3 once AND RoE once to register both CD keys. Until then, either one will complain about a missing CD key.

1. Run D3, will complain, exit. (CD key is registered in the background.)
2. Run RoE, will complain, exit. (CD key is registered in the background.)
3. Run either one, they will work fine.

Kinda late to the party, but I have a similar issue. I bought Doom 3 with RoE and BFG in a bundle a while back. I just got around to it and I am prompted for the Doom 3 CD key in RoE. However, when I go to Manage>View CD key in Doom 3 it comes up empty. Weirdly, RoE gives me a proper key. I don't know if there's a problem with the game or something else, but verifying the installation did not work. My Doomkey file is empty, and whenever I try to run the vanilla Doom 3 it just does nothing.

Anyone got similar issues?

Try manually adding your Doom 3 and RoE key to those blank doomkey and xpkey files, respectively, while following the format I laid out in this GOG post.

I have the exact same issue, I just contacted Bethesda support to find a fix but I'm relieved I'm not the only one who has this.

See, I would gladly do this, but I just don't have a Doom 3 key. RoE is perfectly fine, I get the CD key when I try to run it, all is good. But Doom 3 just doesn't give me anything when I go to "Manage > View CD key". I am using a lot of magic to make things work at this point, but I'd gladly accept a different solution.

Doom 3 will not launch (vanilla, not BFG Edition)
I click the green Play button, a message says 'updating product key' for two seconds then goes straight back to the green Play button. Any ideas? Thanks

Hate when they complicate ♥♥♥♥ with a stupid cd key after you clearly bought the game but opened roe and d3 and it worked for me so i thank you for that
