Won't Start Up

I recently purchased DOOM 3 (retail disc, NOT BFG EDITION) and whenever I try to launch the game, it does nothing. The loading cursor appears for a few seconds, then disappears and thats it. I've tried the compatibility in the properties along with running it as admin even with the "secret" administrator user. I have Windows 7, please help...

Why make a new thread when the exact issue is still present after 3 years does this not illustrate a point of how bad the industry is at this point in time.

Doom3 and Steam Doom3 works with Windows 10!!
