I loaded the game and there is a button on the main menu that says "MODS". Once I clicked on it and selected the mod, everything worked. Except for the resolution.
I loaded the mod again and it looks way better but for some reason... the max resolution is 1600 x 1200 instead of 2560 x 1400. Still looks way better.
The DoomConfig.cfg file is set as per the instructions.
Check "Run this program as administrator" in your D3 shortcut (Properties->Compatibility tab);
All you need is to add those strings in the autoexec or modify DoomConfig.cfg:
r_customwidth "1920" (or higher)
r_customheight "1080" (or higher)
r_mode "-1"
r_aspectratio "1" (0 is 4:3, 1 for 16:9, 2 for 16:10/15:9)
If you launched once, then start with copying essential HD 'base', 'd3xp' (and/or dxle) to the game directory and then do this;
Launch the game only after doing all these, then the mods will be applied and will stay applied for both Doom 3 & ROE (And Lost mission too if configured)
My recommendations: Use the low end CFG in add-ons, the malloc error will occur even on strong hardware unlike said to happen in low end systems, so if you want to keep playing smoothly without game crashing end of a level making you play the prev level again, you better do it (You won't loose that much graphic quality so I always use it)
I found a solution myself. It turns out that using a source port solved every problem i had.
I just copied the files and it ran like butter.
worked for me. May have to load the mod in the menu.
(Same applies to lost mission)
