Help with windows task bar showing up @2560x1440
So, did everything to set the game to my monitor's resolution, BUT now the windows task bar is there, can't hide it. Any ideas? it's locked and just want to play without it. Also, game is set to full screen in the autoexec and doomconfig. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Sorry for the bump, but can anyone help me out here? thanks!

Have you tried alt+tabbing out of it, then alt+tabbing back to the game? Sometimes this fixes it for me (not with DOOM 3 specifically, but this'll happen on other games on occasion)

Alternatively, make sure to click the game icon on your taskbar then click back on the game window itself.

If neither of those work, try some other resolutions. I use 1920x1080 fullscreened, so I know for sure that one works and hides the taskbar on my end. Maybe 2560x1440 is too big and the game is acting weird over it?

I did this but it's still showing up. Did the autoexec and doomconfig tweaking but no avail. It's weird since I could hide the task bar to "solve" the problem but as I do this, the taskbar is still showing up as it was locked or something but it isn't.

I'm not really sure what could be causing it nor any other options to try, sorry. Are you sure the game is in full-screen, through the in-game menu itself and not messing with the config file?

Last thing I can think of is maybe run the exe file as an administrator and see what happens.

Are you sure you've amended the config file correctly? I play with the same resolution and don't have this issue.

Failing amending the file again, try a clean install after an unistall and deleting the file in the Steamapps folder

I did what I read around PCGamingwiki to set the resolution, but nothing else.
I also modified both autoexec and doomconfig but no success.

Gonna re-download but there's has to be something that is conflicting between configs it seems.

I would venture to say that your issue can be resolved by using alt+enter. As far as screen setup, it's all right there in your .cfg. My recommendation is to go into your doom folder structure and in your base file where almost everything lives, create an autoexec.cfg file. Copy all your doomconfig into your autoexec. I find these 3 things work wonders. Go into your OS settings and find your exact screen resolution. In my case, 2560X1080. In your autoexec.cfg that your copied from doomconfig, scroll down the Cvars until you find the R's. r_customWidth 2560 r_customHeight 1080 and r_mode -1. Also, make sure you have your PC's admin set correctly. That will help you a lot methinks. :) If you are running a high frame rate on your monitor, Use r_displayRefresh. For example 200 hz monitor would be r_displayRefresh 200. While the game is capped at 62.5 fps, this will help any tearing issues and vSync issues. Thought i would steer clear of vsync.
