Doom 3 keeps asking for CD-Key...
I bought Doom 3 in 2011 as part of the Doom 3 pack. At the time, cd-keys were (and to a certain extent, still are) needed. Now I've tried to play it again, but it's asking me for mg key /i again /i The key has been used by me the first time, as with Resurrection of Evil. So how do I play?

OK, I can help. Go to the game library>click on Doom 3> off to the far right you'll see CD Key listed. That's it

I just input that exact key, and it claims the key is invalid.

My mistake, need to slow down and read. Doom 3 key was valid, but if you have RoE installed you'll need to fill out that key as well, you can't skip it even if you don't intend to play the expansion.

Same thing has suddenly happened to my doom 3. Not the first time that a steam game has done this. Based on previous experience I expect Steam wil do absolutely nothing about it

And they did nothing what so ever. I refunded the game and just pirated it...

First off doom 3 aint even close to 27 dollars unless you bought the bfg edition which news flash! It’s bad. Og doom 3 is the way to go also pirating isnt going to be good on the long run. Id recommend you actually yknow, support the devs

LMAO - my guy... Ive been pirating for 13 years and let me tell ya. its good for long run

Either way the devs make there money. I only pay for games i deem worthy, such as halo MCC, battlefield, FEAR, empire earth. Plus i wanted to play the doom BFG but steam kill it so i got it other ways.

I mean you can land yourself into legal trouble depending on how much money in pirated games you racked up.

some companies seem to hate the idea of you playing games you paid money for
there are some games that just flat out wont work unless you pirate them
i used to buy tons of games but not anymore, it's never worth it
