Resurrection of Evil retail version troubleinstall breakdown

Dealing with the language compatibility case - as Resurrection of Evil expansion pack to Doom 3 demands exactly the same language version of the main game it uses itself - I approached installing it. It came out to be a decent puzzle, but finally managed to break it down. The problem is, instead of just installing the expansion, RoE first demands to upgrade the game to some other version, which is noted in the game registry, without which RoE refuses to go. To cut the long story short, this is how it went:

1. Clean install Doom 3
2. Run "Doom3.exe" - preferably with "Windows XP SP 3" compatibility, even if it will ultimately fail to run.
3. Preferably restart the CPU
4. Run RoE - through "autorun" menu, otherwise seemingly it may cause issues, at least on Windows 10 - then choose to install.
5. RoE will force upon you the Doom 3 upgrade, apparently just changing the game registry definition to some other number.
6. RoE will continue with the install procedure, with the only problem being that the game launchfiles are gone - wait, what?! - therefore you will need to terminate the install.
7. Launch "1.3.1 fixed Doom3 patch": LINK, with proper destination folder.
8. Return to RoE setup and finish the install.
9. Only for the certainty, re-run "1.3.1 fixed Doom3 patch", just in case RoE has messed with something.
10. Run your game with "Windows Vista SP2" compatibility

Just a quick note, at least in my country RoE retail version is quite a rarity - unnecessarily a collectors choice, such as bigbox Quake, Diablo or something, but rare enough - so ultimately the money it takes to get it equals at least what it would cost me to buy it on STEAM along with basic Doom3, but maybe in your area it is more common secondhand good.

Found out that after the RoE upgrade installation the previous savegames have become irresponsive, at least in "Redux 0.95b" mod. My last save was in Communication Centre, Nightmare difficulty level. I spent quite some time reaching that place. I have two options: to begin the game anew, but then I would probably want to already choose some Sikkmod-free configuration, while at the same time I value the "Redux" and treat it as a vanilla Doom3 experience, desiring to finish it as well - or possibly use cheats and jump directly to the Comm Centre with "Redux" maintained, giving myself only "honorary" weaponry consisting of basic stuff such as shotgun, machinegun and either banship or grenades. The case is, would I obtain plasma rifle anywhere sensibly soon, since already that far it has become very useful causng stun damage to enemies with plenty of ammo around?
