Problem with Doom 3 and Razor mouse
Hello! I'm a big fan of Doom 3, I had it many years ago and played it many times, but I lost my copy of the game, so I decided to buy it from Steam. I'm having a big issue though, the game doesn't seem to read my mouse very well. If the movement I make with my mouse is small, the game doesn't read it all. I tried changing mouse sensitivity in-game and mouse smooth, but it doesn't make any difference. This does not happen with any other game or app. I can press shift-tab to go into steam, and my mouse works just fine, but in the game, even in the menu, it works like ♥♥♥♥.

Anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? I got a death-adder that works well with any other game, and the game runs on 60-90 fps on Ultra. So not sure where the problem is.

Turn mouse smoothing to zero. Go to your "Doom3\base" folder, find "DoomConfig", copy it to the same location. Then rename the copied file "Autoexec" [without quotemarks]. Open "Autoexec" with Windows Notepad, erase all the contents and introduce this line:

seta sensitivity "X"

where X is the number ranging from 1 to baiscally 35 as far as I am concerned. Regular value is 5. Try higher values and see how they fit you.

Hi, thanks for your response, I've followed the steps you suggest but they don't fix my issue. Sensitivity is not the problem. I can lower it or turn it up, and it does change my sensitivity, but that doesn't fix the issue. When I do small movements with my mouse, the game doesn't detect them. The problem remains unaffected by mouse smoothing or sensitivity.

Does disabling pointer precision in mouse properties via control panel help?

I know I'm late to the party on this, but thank you, CRTmatrix! I was having the same issue as the OP, but your suggestion made Doom 3 playable for me.
