Doom 3 map editor error

I have recently got into doom 3 map editing again, but have started to enounter an error whenever i try to save or bsp the map it comes up with this error "unable to rename C:\steam\steamapps\common\doom3\base\test.map to C:/steam/steamapps/common/doom3/base/test.bak: no such file or directory" maybe someone could shed some light to this and how to solve this issue. This also stops me from loading whatever map i want to load after making it.

Also another error has come up,which is "unable to rename C:\steam\steamapps\common\doom3\base\test.map to C:/steam/steamapps/common/doom3/base/test.bak: premission denied."

You will be much better off getting into Doom 3 BFG Edition if you expect multiplayer. Classic version of Doom 3 is good for mods, which in turn are mostly good for singleplayer. Either way, Doom 3 online is pretty much extinct, furthermore taking the community has been split between the classic and the BFG.

there is info here that may help you aswell as video tutorials it maybe a folder path issue or folder structure issue its been awhile since ive mapped good luck https://www.doomworld.com/ and make sure you enter editor as admin right click icon goto properties and tick run as adminstrator apply .
