Quiero cambiar la resolucion y al momento de salir del juego e iniciarlo de nuevo pues sigue todo igua con la misma de 640x480

First, you need to find base folder within the game's main folder. It can be found within Steam\steamapps\common folder.

The full path would look like this:
C:\Program Files(х86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Doom 3\base

In the base folder you need to find DoomConfig.cfg. Open the file with your basic text editor, like Notepad.

In this file you need to find and change the following lines:
seta r_customHeight "xxx" (replace "ххх" with the desired resolution height, for example "1080")

seta r_customWidth "xxx" (replace "xxx" the desired resolution width, for example "1920")

seta r_mode "x" (replace "x" with "-1")

seta r_aspectRatio "x" (if you have 16:9 monitor, replace "x" with "1"; if you have 16:10 or 15:9 monitor, replace "x" with "2")

Save the file, and enjoy the game!
