Get "Redux" mod, it is easier to install and much less tweaked up Doom3 iteration. Although as far as I remember "Perfected Doom3" does involve some autoinstaller.

Thanks, but how do i manage mods, do i create a folder with the name ''mods'' in it? (ive done it and it doesnt work) do i need to install an autoinstaller and if so how? thx for your reply ^^

What mod do you particularly want? There are couple of ways. First, mods are launched through the menu section entitled "mods", when the mod is included in the main gamefolder under separate subdirectory. In order to avoid selecting the mod from the game menu each time after the game is started but have it go right off the bat, it is possible to create a shortcut file to "doom3.EXE", adding to it a special commandline. Alternatively, modfiles can be thrown directly into "base" directory of Doom3, but it is recommended only in some cases, especially when it can easily be undone. Besides, regarding the last mentioned way, there are certain further rules to it that one must get to know to have the effect working properly. Redux should automatically install and create a shortcut as far as I remember.

Checked it, well, it seems "Redux" must be extracted from the downloaded archive and the entire distinct extracted "Redux" directory be thrown into the main Doom3 folder. Then you start Doom3 and select it in "mods" section. To have it launched already, make "doom3.EXE" shortcut, rightclick the shortcut and in the destination path, at the end, add:

+set fs_game redux

Mind there must be a spacebar difference between the destination path and the commandline. Also if the destination path is in quotemarks, the commandline must be outside of quotemarks.

(The mod i really want is PD3) separate subdirectory? because i'd like to switch mods aswell from the game menu and, i cant find the folder in which will make Perfected doom 3 show up, if i click on mods, all i get is vanilla doom 3 and RoE, but no mods shown.

I'm installing Redux to see what happens, i'll uptade you on whats going on if you want (srry if my experience with modding is really, noob-ish)

Every mod basically is to be placed in a separate folder, within the main game folder. Then you launch it from "mods" section in the main game menu. You can shorten the path by creating a shortcut as I described. I have managed to start Perfected Doom3, it has an autoinstaller. With Perfected Doom3 installer as the install destination you should choose the Doom3 folder.

What did you do?

I've downloaded the PD3 mod, extracted it and PD3 folder went directly into the doom 3 folder, by the way, ive read redux's instructions, for steam users there's that thing that i needed to do ''+set fs_game redux'' and, well redux isnt showing either, and it is in my Doom 3 folder

None are showing

I doubt it is some cosmic enigma the reason why the mods malfunction for you. You have the game from STEAM, right? I have had a retail CD patched version, so maybe better if someone who also played STEAM version helped you out.

By the way, regarding "Redux", the folder which is to go into Doom3 directory is entitled exactly "Redux". So yes, you need to open the extracted directory to get it. "Redux - options" and stuff, keep in other place. You must use your adequate reason and knowledge on how to get around with PC gaming stuff, including modding games if you want it, because eventually it is you who has to do it. If you find the thing too troublesome, refund and get BFG edition.

If you reinstall, after deleting the game, check your STEAM folder to manually delete whatever you installed additionally, because it may happen the installer will leave it.
