Doom 3 Mods
I tried installing some mods for this game but I can not get them to work. I could use some help. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what mods you have installed. Some require some tweaking on the base game to get the mod working, especially Absolute Doom 3 and Perfected Doom 3.

I tried the CDC Assests Pack, Doom 3 directors cut, and the sikkmod. Is there a mod that is better or easier to get to work?

Doom 3: Redux Mod. It is awesome. It has better graphics, widescreen support, original gameplay, restored cut content and is very easy to install.

I also heard about "Doom 3 High Definition" mod. Does it cooperate with "Redux"? In case they work only separately, which one would you recommend in case of having tried both?

EDIT:

Here are the links to sources I talk about:

Redux IMO is the best if you want to preserve visual style, atmo and gameplay of the game but enhance graphics quite a bit, it´s also bugfree and works just fine, at least on my rig.
it´s all set with 16.9 resolutions in the menu and you don´t have to fiddle with anything.
I recommend it if you don´t know how to mess with Doom 3 mods.
it´s kinda like Half Life 2 update and what the BFG edition should have been.

Thanks for a firsthand opinion. I will check it out as soon as I get my retail version of the game. I know Doom 3 runs on the same engine as Quake 4 does, which I already play, so there should be a mod section in the main menu, being the most transparent way to get the thing go. I must also remember to patch up my game.

Any other mods worth to eventually check out? I heard about a campagin "In Hell, Directors Cut".

Oh god. Absolute HD seems to be pure horro to get to work.
After white screen I now have horrible artifacted visuals, like sguished from sides.

Ive tried a bunch of mods including some mentioned here ... some with success but some with issues mainly random crashes.

seems the same for alot of other folk ...either they work or they dont, I guess it depends on alot of things like hardware , operating system ... i really dont know im not an expert on modding.

In the end i just play doom 3 on high resolution / ultra settings and im content with that ... i still think it looks ok .... bare in mind i first expereinced doom 3 back in the day on original xbox so you can imagine the step up in quality from that.

I now just use sound mods for the weapons and demons ... oh and ive made the pistol, shotgun & machine gun all black in color

Some people on the net recommended "Duct Tape" mod to make the basic guns have additional flashlight. I saw a mod turning grenades into flares somewhere as well, though commentators called it a poor trade.

Doom redux works really well. Might be that same thing would make absolute HD work well to. Well I am going with redux now. Though I might get duct tape mod.

Sikkmod is used in absolute HD and redux as a part.

After re-reading these posts again i decided to give the redux with sikkmod mod a try.

For me this mod does run really well , ive gotten as far as delta labs and have not had a crash , freeze etc ...its been a pleasant experience , so give this one a try if you encounter problems with the rest.
