You get more for your money if you install Unreal Engine, get some assets and play with that around.
EDIT: Without the ability to change the poses of the actors Cine Tracer makes no sense.
It is more like a tool that can be used to create a very inexpensive mock up of movie studio shoots before they go out and build the props and scout out the locations.
once fully developed I can see a program like this easily commanding at $150+ price tag when you consider just how much money it will save in pre-production costs.
It should be noted that I am not in the movie industry but I am going to keep an eye on this as I think that it is pretty cool and could eventually have uses in other fields.
For example imagine if you could import a topographical map from google earth that only provides the elevation data thus allowing you to re-create a small section of the city, and then overlay the roads onto it and you would have a blank canvas to redesign however you want.
Something liek this could one day be used by city planners or Master plan community builders and other fields.
as for me I dont really have any use for it right now but I love the idea and in a few months when it gets a little closer to Christmas I will very likely pick this up if only to support the devs.
“The price of Cine Game will likely increase after it hits "Full Release" status. That is TBD.”
Also one way I can see this getting reduce is if they open up a steam workshop or DLC with paid content where people can purchase additional asset packs and in that case they might drop the price to encourage more people to jump on board with the intention of making up the difference from those that have much larger pockets (aka the rich guys)
Are they freaking INSANE!
Not even EA do this.... Well not yet anyways.
Well technically its not a game. This is software that can actually be used to do some pretty amazing stuff and if used for business it can save you more than enough time to justify the cost.
honestly I think that it is worth two or three times what they are charging espeically once all of the features have been added. That said this is a productivity tool and not a game so you have to consider its value in that regard.
I would also point out that the work people are doing with this is already pretty cool given the limited content and the devs have been very responsive and just about every week there is something new added to the program.
