Seems like a Windows 11 issue and no one seems to have a new update to make it compatible.
This game and StarCraft are the games I most wanted to carry over from my previous computer. StarCraft played just fine on Windows 10, but there are major discrepancies in compatibility between 10 and 11. Windows 11 wouldn't read my Starcraft CD at all. I ended up downloading the Battle.net app and purchasing StarCraft remastered. I just replayed levels up to the point where I could save a close recreation of what I had before.

Copy "dinput.dll" to "steamapps\common\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource"
Copy ALL content of folder "\dgVoodoo2_82_3\MS\x86" to "steamapps\common\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource"
Copy "dgVoodoo.conf" & "dgVoodooCpl.exe" to "steamapps\common\Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine\Resource"
You can remove the dgvoodoo watermark by launching dgVoodooCpl.exe (launch from "Resource" folder / go to tab "Direct X")
Launch the game the regular way. Hope it also works on your end!
This worked like a charm. I can play all of my previously saved games.
Hey I am completely computer illiterate, is there a way you can walk me through this a little more, I thought I did everything you said but it is still not working
Alright, I am gonna do it real fast, so "withoutaface" doesnt have to.
The first link is not relevant to you, unless you want to play the game with a controller.
1. So use the second link provided "https://github.com/dege-diosg/dgVoodoo2/releases"
2. Press Ctrl+F and enter: dgvoodoo2_82_3.zip
3. Click on the now coloured link to download it
4. Unzip the file you just downloaded. Right click -> Unzip all
5. Go to your indiana jones installation folder. The easiest way to do it by right-clicking the game in your steam library -> properties -> local files -> browse. There you open the folder called "Resource".
6. Now go in the folder where you unziped your files from step number 4. Copy the file "dgVoodoo.conf" and "dgVoodooCpl.exe" into the directory "Resource" from step number 5. Repeat this step with the 4 dll-Files in the folder "MS\x86" from your "dgVoodoo2_82_3.zip".
7. You should now have copied 6 files ""dgVoodoo.conf", "dgVoodooCpl.exe", "D3D8.dll", "D3D9.dll", "D3DImm.dll" and "DDraw.dll" into the Resource folder.
8. Start the game. That should do the trick. I am using windows 11 and the game works flawless with this method. If something is not working for you this way, you might want to reinstall the game once and try the method again. Maybe something else went wrong. Best of luck!
You legend! I dont know if it worked for the other guy but it 100% worked for me!
