Shambler doesn't teleport in on Tower of Wrath ending

And b/c of this I can't progress and finish the level. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Ever come up with a fix? I just had this issue as well. Playing via Quakespasm

i found a fix. save your game right before you hit the button to spawn in the shambler. leave the game and switch to the original engine (not GLQUAKE). go in kill the shambler, go through the teleporter to the next level. save and go back into GLQUAKE.

i had the exact same problem, it might be quakespam since i used the quakepatch after i had already begun the level

i had to load up a cave of death save point, finish cave of death again, i finished tower of wrath in one go and THEN the shambler spawned

I had the same problem, and I'm playing the 2021 updated Steam release. I had to replay the level (I always have a save at the start of each level).

Same thing happened to me. I played the remastered version and I had to use the noclip cheat to exit the level.

I remember having similar problems with Dark Places engine - NOCLIP console command works in such cases, like already mentioned. So load Quake, bring down console with ~ key, write SV_CHEATS 1, hit enter, then load affected savegame, write NOCLIP in console, "swim" through walls to desired location, write NOCLIP again, save game. But when using NOCLIP, to move up and down one needs to use swim down and swim up binds...

EDIT: I'm not sure how SV_CHEATS 1 commad reacts with steam achievements though...

Playing the re-release. This happened to me. Just replayed the level and it worked. I can exit now.

Same problem happened to me. Hit the button behind the electricity, no Shambler spawn, no bookcase movement to reveal the portal.
The SV_CHEATS 1 and noclip worked well.
I entered SV_CHEATS 0 afterwards and restarted the game hopefully to turn achievements back on...?

This just happened to me today and I found a solution! Not sure exactly what fixed it, so I will mention some extra details in case they may be necessary:
1. I saved my game before pushing the button and I had the quad damage activate it (again, not sure if this last thing is relevant).
2. Then I hit escape and End Game.
3. Once back in the menu, I went to Add-ons, a loading message appears, then I scrolled all the way to the last option (I did not download anything) and then I went back to the main menu.
4. I loaded my game, then pushed the button and.... voila! The dammened Shambler spawned!
