At the very end, there is still one rod left to insert. This is because we begin the final room with one of the doors already opened and without anything behind it. I suspect we to somehow find that missing rod and unlock the true ending.
I am on to something, devs?
Right now we have no plans on adding more content, but if sales are high enough to allow for it, and if there is enough interest in it, we have thought about making a The Lost Chapters DLC
You have created a great adventure game, but I have to admit that I didn't like this idea. I don't know if more people feel the same way as I do, but I believe the abrupt ending only makes players wonder if there is a real ending to be unlocked. This is further supported by a few objects that we never get to use, such as security car A, the veritas leaflet, the glitch search option available in some terminals, etc.
I have. The impression I got is that we were always inside the simulation loop, and the later chapters are just a simulation within a simulation. At least this is what I think the reboot message at the very end means.
Another reason why the idea of a loop makes me not like the ending is because it ends up being very similar to the Forever Lost conclusion. But at least those games offered you the option to commit suicide at end and break the loop.
Count me in as one of the those interested!
I'm not mad or sad about the game, just curious! :)
But yea, endings are hard. Up there with beginnings, and middles really.
Basically, all I'm left with at the end is "Just forget about the characters and story you were introduced to for the first 2/3rds of the game, it doesn't exist so it doesn't matter what happens to any of the characters" which REALLY doesn't seem like what the devs are going for.
I enjoyed how the game started. I loved how the world built as you progressed. I loved most of the puzzles. I felt like the ending discredited the rest of the game, sadly.
I'll try playing it again, and waiting for more discussion on the game.
