Lets see a Axis & Allies global edition digital remake !

Who else would be interested in making this happen ? In my opinion axis and allies global edition 1940 where you combine the maps of two games is hands down the best version of axis and allies. Allies have 6 Factions and the Axis have 3, this game incorporates a great deal of political strategy in the first few turns of the game and has some new units like tactical bombers and mechanised infantry as well as you are able to build air bases & naval dockyards. With the combination of the new units and the in depth early game war between china and japan and Germany against France and Britain make for a starkly different game once america and Russia have entered the war. As well you are able to purchase research at the beginning of your turn, each research costs 5 ipc and each research token purchased allows you to roll a dice. you want a 6 as this will give you a research breakthrough. For every breakthrough earned you may pick chart one or two and roll again, 1 - 6 on each chart corresponds with a tech that will give you an edge economically or militarily.

I am a long time Axis & Allies fanatic but have become bored with the current Axis and allies game-play, it feels to small and basic of a game. Once you've played Axis and allies global edition this vanilla version of the game feels like a smart phone version of the game that doesn't encapsulate the true depth of Axis & Allies.

I agree, Axis & Allies Global 1940 as an online game like this would have been awesome! Suddenly the intimidating, extremely time-consuming board game would be perfectly playable.

But alas, there are too few consumers for that kind of product som we will likely never get it.

I won 6/6 global 1940 tournaments I entered.

I still do the J1 DOW opener in my playbook religiously. It is still pinned on axisandallies.org

I did get dropped down to the loser bracket in one tournament (lost as axis) and in the finals I had to win twice (won as axis and allies) against the player that beat me. Some still swear I am lucky.

I think J1 DOW is on par with any J2 DOW and J3 DOW is just silly. J1 is more fun for everyone involved, which is why it is my default.

Get rid of the DOW system. Just have everyone start at war :)
