Axis & Allies 1942 Online

Axis & Allies 1942 Online

Is this better or worse than the atari version?
This looks interesting, I actually loved the atari version because the battles were rts after the turn based phase. Getting it to work on modern windows is a pain though.

It's worse! It use to be fun but they turned it into a stupid mobile game for PC. Now I have to hold down the mouse to go to the next phase instead of a simple click. Everything they did makes the game drag on longer for no reason. Why they went away for the original hasbro direction irritates me. there are no upgrades or campaign in this version

In its current state, it is better. It has come a long way in the last 2 years. Would like to see the transport movement interfaces cleaned up, but other than that, I don't have any major complaints.

This is a fun game, but they somehow have to work in landing fighters on allied carriers and using allied transports.

the use of allied carriers and transports are not within the current licence agreement

Idk Allies are currently favoured. Giving them another tool feels like a mistake. I am not for the adoption of allied carrier rules, even if they are in the original game.

Doesn't sound like anybody has played the atari version. I would check it out.

Hey UncleBensRicin! This game is neither a remake nor a rethinking of that Axis & Allies video game from 2004 created for Windows and published by Atari.

Axis & Allies 1942 Second Edition was released in July 2012, so the boardgame we're basing our game on, was actually released much later than the video game you mention.

I would recommend Axis & Allies 1942 Online to any A&A fan, period. Start playing Multiplayer against human opponents, and there won't be any way back, only forward, to master your strategy and become better with every match.

This is just a recreation of the board game in online format. Nothing much like the Atari game that was thematically related to the board game.

I might have to check it out then.

Man alive, Mike. I dont think I have ever seen someone SO butthurt over such a minor inconvenience. I mean, I hadnt even noticed it as an inconvenience to me at all. You are literally saying the game sucks donkey balls because you have to spend 2 seconds to do something that used to be instant. You should instead be thanking your lucky stars that the change wasnt the implementation of a confirmation button.

I dont think landing planes on allies carriers or using an allies TP's would make the game better. The game is almost perfectly balanced the way it is. The better I got with the Axis, the more it became relevant.

i agree the game is great the way it is.
