Transport Help on Rules Clarification
I have been an Axis and Allies fan for years.

During that time I have always played transport units in the following manner:

Transport can move, pick up troops, then drop them off.

When I play this game the transport can ONLY drop off troops IF it starts in the SAME zone as their adjacent sea zone.

How I tested this :

Turn 1 I moved the tank off Eastern Canada to France. I was able to unload the tank with no problems. The icons for LOAD (boat with arrow) and UNLOAD (sweeping arrow) appeared.

I then CANCELED this movement.

I then MOVED the transport to the sea zone west of France.

I then loaded ONE infantry and ONE tank from Britain onto the transport. The LOAD and UNLOAD icons appeared. However, the icon to unload would NOT highlight France. Nor if I clicked on it would it allow me to offload troops.

I then tested this same rule in the waters off Australia.

Once I moved the transport to New Zealand and loaded the infantry I could NO LONGER move the transport.

So, my questions are thus:

Can you not move a transport AFTER you have loaded troops DURING its move?

Can you not move a transport into a FRIENDLY sea zone, pick up troops, and drop them off?

If the answers are YES please tell me the in-game features that allow this to happen.

Hi there,

To control and move Transports (Option 1):

1. Select the Transport stack you wish to load (left-click)
2a. Right-Click on any units you wish to load in applicable/adjacent regions.
3. Right-click on region you wish to move Transport to

To control and move Transports (Option 2):

1. Left Click on a unit you wish to load onto an adjacent Transport
2. Right Click on the sea zone containing the Transport
3. Repeat until all units are loaded (if desired)
4. Select the Transport Stack
5. Open the Dossier if needed
6. Select the specific Transport you wish to move from the Dossier by left clicking on the Transport itself
7. Regions the Transport can move to will be highlighted in blue. Regions the Transports can drop units off to for an amphibious assault will be highlighted Red. Transport movements in the Combat Move Phase must result in a Combat and/or Amphibious Assault.
8. Repeat for each Transport.

Notes:
1. Open the Dossier (e) when the Transport stack is selected to see how your selection for the "current Transport" changes as you load your units. The "current Transport" will have a white glow around it

2. In order to avoid confusion, I recommend the following flow (it takes a few more clicks, but it will reduce potential confusion):
- Select the Transport stack
- Load and move Transports one at a time. Load a Transport with the 1 or 2 units you wish to move, then right click on the region(s) you wish to move to
- Select the Transport stack again and repeat

OR

- Load the first two units you wish to move by moving them into the Sea Zone/onto the Transport
- Select the Transport Stack
- Right click on the target region you wish to move the Transport
- Repeat individually for each Transport

I believe the issue you were running into was that the Transport you wanted to amphibiously assault from wasn't properly selected. Make sure the Transport you want is selected by opening the Dossier and selecting the specific Transport from the list by left clicking on the Transport itself. It will gain a white glow once selected.

We realize that depending on your flow, this isn't always 100% clear as to the specific of what you need to do. We're currently working on UI revisions that will address this problem more head on in a future update.

There's a link to a rulebook in the stickied FAQ thread. I can't tell if you're doing illegal movement and leaving out description, or experiencing a bug.

1. You can move a transport after you've loaded troops, provided the movement is legal.

2. You can move a transport into a friendly sea zone, pick up troops, and drop them off, again, provided the movement is legal.

3. You already know how to control transports - moving, loading, unloading. You can also select a particular transport by opening the territory window (lower left) and selecting a specific transport.

Also I think if you have a loaded transport that you can move the transport to a sea zone with right click then unload into an adjacent land territory by right clicking that territory.

You can also move a transport and unload it with a single right click on the territory you want to unload to, but then the transport auto-paths which often leaves the transport in a sea zone you don't want it in

==

Take a bunch of screenshots, post to imgur, put imgur links in post.

Can't really tell from a written description if you've just left things out, or if you wrote everything relevant correctly and there's a bug, or what. Screenshots make things clearer.

Note: I didn't have issues with transports in my last game, but I always use right-click to unload. So maybe it's something with the "offload" button or whatever? Can't tell from the OP.

@oldmanripper All that should be possible. Try moving the transport first and then using the dossier-- pick the transport from there.

Wanted to let you know how i was able to make it work.

There is a very small place in the Territory Window where you can highlight the troops and deploy them onto the territory you wish to attack.

in the Window there is an image of the Transport.

Above the Transport is an image of what is loaded.

Normally this image has one vertical line that looks like a lower case L ----> l

Thus, it would be :

Infantry image l Tank image

Transport imaage

You MUST click on the line that looks like a lower case L. Nothing else will work.

That being said... can that selection field be made bigger in a future update, please?
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
