Still Constant Disconnects
Patch after patch and still constant disconnects.

What ever you did in the last patch don’t help. Now I get disconnected and the game reloads non connected mode, so I must close and reload. Really this happen 3 or 4 time in a 30 min session.

It’s nice you made the arrows 50% smaller but what is more important.

It's not productive to spam the same thread over and over about your disconnects.

There is a definite problem with the way the game treats a network disconnect, but it also sounds like your connection is at least partially to blame.

They understand the issue, they do not need repeated reminders from you to treat this with more urgency.

A larger fix is coming in January which should help more players with spottier internet connections from disconnecting as soon as a connection to the internet is lost. We'll announce more details on that when its closer to completion.

This is not the first thread on this and yes i'm spam it so it stays on top. This issue is not being addressed. Yes at the start i would post about it now and then but six updates later still an issue.

I agree. And I love how they say the patch will address for "spotty" internet connections. They totally miss the point.. Its not anyone's internet connection so much as their servers and the demand they put on them. Too much net traffic for simple "1's and 0's" (layman terms). What needs to be done is the stop all the animations (disabling animations locally does not do the trick), as computer rolls are already conducted by the time the local machine has caught up to the server because the server is sending out UPD or TCP packets that are not acknowledged or lost completely. I've wiresharked the game for two games now and so many packets have been lost or fragmented and discarded, its unreal. No wonder the rolls are so "f'd" up on the local side. Seriously need to re-work the network side of the game. It's truly making playing the game just to have fun, "no fun". I've said this in previous posts, most who purchased the game did so to play with their friends, not ranked matches. In such all the network overhead and bs the game is trying to do is worthless and truly makes playing no fun as the computer is 15 rolls ahead of the actual players computer. Units are lost for apparently no reason for non-computer players and so many things just seem like "behind-the-scenes" the computer is thinking and reacting to destroy non-computer units/players and does so with no visuals.

Bottom line.. It's not anyone's Internet Connection. Its the games network overhead to and from the servers / players that cause all the issues.

Sorry if this seems harsh but I'm really getting sick of the OP computer. I've beaten the computer twice now, but that's not the point.

It's hard to program AI to play a human player i will not fault the dev's for this even games like HOI and CIV have not come out with good AI that don't cheat but i can play them all day with out being kicked even with my so called "spottier internet connections"

LOL. yeah.. But the AI for a game like this is not hard to design. They have designed it based on history and actual human moves, mostly what they would do, as the so-called AAA pros and players for decades. I get it. Question to ask here is how many of the devs have actually played their own game outside of a rank or public match. I would bet, based on all the issues, they have played/tested outside the private space and focused on the long-term public/ranked space. Which to me is useless. As much as I love the game in itself, I prefer to play when turns are completed and the game continues moving forward.

The connection issue @Bakker is experiencing (and a few other users reporting here) is not a universal one. A fix is coming this month, which should help more players with spottier internet connections from disconnecting as soon as a connection to the internet is lost. We'll announce more details on that when its closer to completion.

Please what is "spottier internet" live in a larger urban centre in Canada. I have ROGERS IGNITE 500 - UNLIMITED internet. We steam Netflix perfectly, my computer is hard wired to the modem and i have been play Hoi IV, Victoria II, Stellaris, Europa Universalis IV, Sid Meier's Civilization IV Colonization, Age of Empires II Definitive Edition all online for years with no issues.

Please if there are anything i should be testing on my computer let me know. But to blame this issue on my internet connection is just ignorant.

Every day i get disconnected from this game.

I cant even connect....
This on top of the lack of options.... I'm starting to prefer TripleA again
Bakker Jan 7, 2020 @ 5:17pm
True i was hoping this would work out, easier to hook up with steam friends and i'm sure they will make other A&A Versions if they ever work out the bugs here. Just lost connection looking at my game list? Now that just poor programming or error checking why would the program shut down after missing checking for game updates when it not the end of the world waiting for the next one.

It's horrible, the game disconnects every 5 minutes - especially during the weekends. I filed a ticket with beamdog but their only "support" was to just close it. This platform is not ready yet.
