What the hell went wrong?

Man this game is bad, like really bad, out of the 4 latest games (X T V, 30) V is the best one. X was trying to be somekind of isekai, it was also really bad.

In 30th... The story is all over the place. The mission structure is awnful, too many side quest, though the are not mandatory it makes too easy to farm credits and exp, makes the game way too easy, halfway game i've already all my main roster maxed out. (just max out Mitsuba and you won the game)

Also too many useless units that just end up collecting dust in the dreistreger hangar.
The only thing i liked was the AOS system upgrade and the relic system, everything else was just bad design.

Bruh, try some challenge run, and ignore the missions you don't like.

The freedom of 30 brings up some problems.
And the useless units are just subjective since the weak ones can be used for challenge run.

The problem with 30's story is that due to the whole mission system, it'll be too complex to have crossover material because they don't know when you will do each mission order, so the crossover material is much more limited compared to other SRW games.

Sadly giving the players the freedom to pick the order of missions to play, is a double edge sword, the story is really all over the place, there is no focus at all and felt really incoherent.

V was easy to understand the overall gist of the story.

How would you know if they own it or not?

If there is a computer mouse icon beside their name, then they own it. If not, they don't.

Personally, I'm hoping it goes on sale in the summer sale at the end of the month.

That only means they don't have it on Steam, and not on that account at that.

Mind you, I'm waiting for a sale myself, not claiming to own it, but it's pure ignorance to claim to know what other players may or may not have, especially when the title isn't even exclusive to Steam. For example, I have Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition on GOG, but I still use the Steam forums when discussing the game because it's much more active than the GOG forums.

My apologies. I had thought you meant that account in particular. But you are right, it's possible they have it on switch, or some other console (either by import of native to their country), as well as it being possible they have multiple accounts. I guess I jumped the gun in my desire to potentially help, hahaha.

Man i miss Alpha Gaiden, that was a good game. I'm forcing myself through 30th, it is a mess... i don't really want to quit but it's a chore to finish it..
