It doesn't look that way, judging by the MINIMUM specs on the store-page.

You may try installing/launching the game, but most likely one or both actions will result in an error-message.

Maybe, but likely no.

Isn't Win10 still a free upgrade...?

Win10 was a free upgrade for a limited time when it came out in 2016.
There was also a way to upgrade for free lateron with a little backdoor, because Microsoft still kept offering free upgrades for people who rely on accessibility-features.

The game is going to run.
V and X both ask for Windows 10 but still don't ask for the DirectX that 7 doesn't have.
People with W7 PCs have been able to run both.
So yes, OP, you'll be able to run the game.

It's still free and the thing is downloadable through microsoft, so it's like an open secret now. You just have to google the method (I'm not sure if it's allowed to be discussed even if you're downloading from microsoft, since it's not game related)

Windows 10 is only 20 or so bucks anyway, it's not even that big of a deal. Plenty of resellers out there.

Window 11 is out. I don't think Win 8 is good enough for most PC games.

A lot of recent games claim to require 10, yet in my experience run just fine on 7.

It's a case where since 7 (and 8) are no longer supported, publishers aren't allowed to say that they run on 7 or 8. They're not allowed to officially support older OS

One can't rely on that though, it really depends on the software. In some cases it may run just fine, in others you won't be able to install or run a game under Win7. Win8.1 is usually still supported however, unless it's a game requiring DX12.

Not sure how you get games that runs on Win 10 to run on older versions. I had games like Gears of War 4 or Others explicitly said it's Win 10 only and I installed on Win 8 Ultimate and it's not running.

Win 11 is gonna Launch soon. Win 7 and 8 users better start realizing to stop staying back on unsupported OS. Those only have minior fixes. Soon you will have to go to Win 10 then be stubborn for hhow many years again. Then cycle starts all over again. It is users that stay back that mix up programming and have to do multi platform.

see this is the World Percentage

Win10 78.89%
Win7 15.56%
Win8.1 3.46%
