Any one else surprised GunXSword is in this?

SO I have never heard of this series, but suddenly the 30th version is in my news feed and it has my favorite mecha of all time. GunXSword is a classic, and I honestly always think im the only person whos seen it. This makes me happy.

Nope, not surprised! It was directed by the same guy as Geass, and has the same character designer as both Geass (as in, the person who adapted CLAMP's design sketches for animation) and Gaogaigar

Not really because GunXSword was on the latest game (SRW T) and way before it it was on one of the DS games.

GunXSword has been in SRW K (Nintendo DS) and SRW T (PS4/Switch). Also if you're a fan of the Dann, you'll be pleasantly surprised to know it's actually one of the far more broken units in both iterations.

It's definitely an odd series, but this is not the first time it's been in.

IMO GunXSword is kinda underrated, given that the anime had a pretty clever way of toying around with mecha-tropes (like what happens if the crew of a super-combiner gets old or one of them died).

GunXSword has been in a few of the games with the previous entry being one of em . so i'm not that surprised honestly. But good that it caught your interest :) .

Not surprised really, its been in a few games and Eldora V is a fan favorite!

Yeah, not really. It seems to me like when they license a new series it often makes two repeat appearances.

For example Tekkaman Blade appeard in J, immediately followed by W.
Gun x Sword and Magic Knight Rayearth were both in T, the last game, before 30.
Cross Ange was in V then X.
Pretty sure they did it with Mightgaine.
One right after the other. Over and over again.

This isn't the case for everything, of course.

Gun x Sword is on Funimation, I think. I watched the first episode. Need to go back and finish that some day.

They reused multiple series in V/X/T because there was only a year gap between each of the games' releases, so there's a good chunk of recycling going on, though sometimes they tweak the animations to make them feel fresher. They even reused Gurren Lagann and Code Geass units from Z (I don't recall if they got animation updates).

Nope. But I'm glad they've included it in this game. Apart from any Japanese entries for us English speaker this is only the second time we're able to play as Van and his crew.
