Story-wise though you don't need to know anything about previous SRWs or animes to enjoy this game. Most SRWs are independent of each other plot-wise (and the ones that aren't are usually obvious I.E. there's a srw @ and then a srw @2 and @3) and you see most of the anime stories from the beginning, so no previous context is required. Reversely, it's actually a known phenomenon of people getting introduced to an anime through SRW and then becoming fans of the original lol.
Series you recognize being recapped word for word for the 5th time: "Oh, it's THIS scene again."
Series you've never seen before: "Ooooh, what's this? *grabs popcorn*"
Also there's way more than just gundams in this. Gundams is only like a tiny fraction of the series covered in these games. I've only just started and the Gundam series only make up like 10% of the game so far. Hell, playing this game might get you into gundams, or any of the other shows on display here.
This exactly.
There's an in-game encyclopedia that explains everything there is to know of the series (a very good features).
I wish SRW V is also available internationally.
