Outlaw Star sadly is unlikely though. It wasn't ever huge in Japan and mostly has a western fanbase due to Cartoon Network.
Bebop was just a wtf inclusion.
Another "curveball" option could be Xenosaga. Because Xenosaga has the A.G.W.S. units, the A.M.W.S. units, and the E.S. units. And then you have the Gnosis that could easily function thas the main enemy from that franchise, considering their quasi-Kaiju status (they're not nearly as big as actual Kaiju, but they're still very deadly and dangerous).
Xenosaga would be sweet, plus they have done crossovers with them already. Kos-Mos technically is already in.
Also, the Outlaw Star anime was produced by Sunrise, so it's always struck me as odd that it hasn't been included already.
As far as popularity is concerned... I'm going to point out that Zeorymer was in SRW MX and J, which came out in 2004 and 2005. The 4-episode OVA series very loosely based on the adult manga from the early-80's finished in 1990, and the manga wouldn't see anything new till 2007, arguably thanks to the newfound awareness of the series brought on by SRW dredging it up.
Well 2 and 3's did. The ES machines or whatever were ok.
Captain Taylor would be hilarious, I can just imagine everyone arguing about whether a particular maneuver was planned or just plain luck. That said the Soyokaze isn't a particularly impressive vessel so it would likely be a middling ship(but I love Reinforce Jr. so I don't mind if a ship isn't completely op and given the marines and such the Soyokaze would be a viable candidate for a post move battleship so it can have a niche). But a strong enough pilot can make even a mediocre unit strong.
Probably right in 3.
1 has no real resolution. 2 didn't either. It's too much to expect all 3, probably.
Also note which version of Kos-Mos (who needs cleaning) was represented in spin offs.
(real)?
