Question regarding SRW V and X
I know SRW V and X have been available on steam for quite a while but for Asia. Since then, is there no way to get them legally in Europe / the US on Steam?

I think there's some stuff you can do with VPNs, but I don't know enough about that to really advise one way or the other.

You should be able to use a VPN, but that's a pain in the ass since Valve has been trying to stop people from exploiting sale prices in that way. IIRC, you'd need a bank account in the appropriate region.

I think the games also don't launch if you're in the right region, but that's not an issue if you're using the VPN to buy it in the first place.

Thanks. I've read about the VPN solution but apparently, Valve can ban accounts that use VPN to buy games outside their regions :(

The other trick I've heard is creating a second account in that region then using family share to share the game with your main account, but it is still possibly risking your account by doing so.

It goes against Steam ToS and if they determine you've bypassed their region locking they will ban your account.

So no, there's no safe way to own them legally on Steam outside of SEA regions.

If you own a PS4 or Switch, you can import copies that are fully in English.

This. You get the added benefit of access to T.
And I'd argue that T is definitely worth playing (especially over X. X isn't bad but I found it the weakest of the 3 unless you really love Wutaru.)

I mean there are other... less official ways to get them...

I'd love to buy them officially... but if a company doesn't want my money...

Not their fault they can't get the worldwide licenses.

Hmm, I'm actually one of these rare people who like X the most - It turned me into a Reconguista fan. Besides, Xelguard is quite cool ... and I personally dislike V the most because it's SBY focus is annoying at best (and some groups, like the Trailblazer cast feel like an absolute afterthought, I mean, you fight ELS *twice*, or rather, even only once depending on route choices. And let's not forget poor Hathaway; why is he even in V at all?) ... oh, and Soji & Chitose are like, the most boring protagonists of VXT30 imho.

One (minor) advantage XT have over 30 though is that the final boss has dialoge with *everyone*, even side characters. I always found it sad that 30s final boss(es) only adress main characters when being attacked ...

I found it much easier to just buy the Switch releases of them, since the switch is region free.
But would double dip if i could get them on Steam as well.

Same. I played those on PS4 back when they released but having them on the PC would be nice as well.

I was lucky enough to grab both of them on Steam during a vacation in a region where you could buy them.
That was before Valve locked down region switching much more tighter and it was much easier to change your region store.
Nowadays you need a payment method from the region you want to switch to which makes shopping during vacation sadly impossible.

But at least i own all the SRW games that are on Steam.

Very weird V, X and T are not released internationally as a bunch.
Would buy instantly.

They contain some very popular series that have been licensed to companies in other countries.

Untangling those licenses to allow a release would be both very time consuming and very expensive.

SRW30's series were chosen because the international licenses were possible and even then console versions weren't allowed to have a digital release.
