How do you delete a savegame?
Hello,
I haven't actually found *any* way to delete a savegame - and I kinda made a few intermission saves too many.

I also tried "load game" and pressed all the buttons on the controller but nothing ...
Thanks in advance!

First question is steam cloud on or off?

If steam cloud is on you can't delete them if the saves are local though. You can delete them manually.

It's %appplocaldata% > SRW > Saves. Just delete one of the folder that ends with numbers. (Backup first of course before experimenting)

Now if you're on cloud. You can convert it to local saves. Which is a pain of its own. I'm working right now so I can get into more detail when I get off. Or someone else can take over haha.

Still though didn't past SRW games offer the option to delete?

Ah, Steam Cloud is on. No worries, I guess it's not *that* bad. (It's just seven saves, but I thought, three might suffice.)

Actually considering there's uh multiple endings you might want to have separate saves, though true 7 might be overkill.

I would like to delete save data that I don't need.
I would like to update the delete function.

I'm assuming you're on Windows 10, or at least hoping that if you aren't, it's at least close enough to this.

Open up File Explorer. Expand your C drive and look for the "Users" directory. Expand that and look for your user name. Expand that and look for "AppData" and expand it. Look for "Local" and expand it. Scroll down to find "SRW30" and open it. It will have a few files and a directory called "Saves." I don't know how many files or exactly what kind will be in there, but I just have the one file since I have one save, and the file's name is "steam_autocloud.vdf".

If you can't find a SRW30 directory in "Local," look in "Roaming" instead.

Hopefully this helps, although I agree that being able to dealing with this in-game would be preferable.

For reference, my saves appear to be in:
<Steam install directory>\userdata\<my user ID>\898750\remote\SRW30\Saves
For me at least, the AppData location just seems to be some config.
Also if you have cloud saves turned on you'll probably have to delete the saves while the game is running, otherwise Steam may just put them back when you start it up.

If i tried to turn off steam cloud while playing, the game won't find any save data until i enabled the steam cloud again.

I could see why you would want a clean way to delete saves because "oh just overwrite them" had some real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ UI glitches closer to launch.

Which it SEEMS they patched?

Because closer to launch, scroll down was fine. Scroll up and the cursor would reset back to the bottom of the screen every time it reached the top and only moved the overall list back up by one, so I had to essentially scroll x5 times as much going up than down leading me to think "Maybe I should look into deleting these somehow..."

I tried that before but it didn't work. The save games which I deleted keeps coming back.

it's possible to get the cloud to delete saves, but very difficult - I don't remember the exact process I used but it was something like deleting saves from the steam cloud cache while the game was running and then using windows administrative functions to deny write privileges to the entire cache folder, closing the game and restarting it which, IIRC, triggered the cloud conflict. (Then, of course, restoring write privileges after the cloud syncs itself to your locked folder)

I feel like there's steps I'm missing though.

What worked for me was using a program called Steam Cloud File Manager to delete the save files while the game was running. I tried to do it without the program, but the files would be back when I restarted the game. I also tried to use the program before launching it, but that also did not work.
