How do you feel about this vs G generation Crossrays
I know they are different game but I mean

Content , moving people into different suits, the character creation, not capping stats ect ect.

I'm enjoying this so far but I can say that I enjoyed crossrays out of the gate and was having more fun.

Its very different approaches. The SD Gundam games are much more "sandbox" so to speak, crafting units, putting pilots in different suits and playing through key story moments from each Gundam series.
SRW is a pretty linear crossover story where all those different series are getting merged into one and you follow the story through to the end. There are splits in the route and this game has a bit more open mission structure with the world map but its still two very different approaches.
Also you cant usually switch pilots around between different series or mecha.
So no way to put Amuro into Mazinger Z for example.

This is more about building and upgrading a core team of mecha and characters through the course of the story.

I find the maps in 30 a lot better then the maps in cross rays and also i like how all the different characters plays a part in the story where as in crossrays you are literally just replaying key moments in the series with no input from anyone else but the canon characters in said series.

I'll put this simply for onlookers.

If you need a single plot connecting the whole game and actually be involved in the story itself. then SRW is the way to go.

Cross Rays consist of various series but there is zero plot connecting them all. Also, the game treats the player as if they don't exist. You are essentially like a ghost onlooker. To give an analogy, it's like pokemon without a main plot.

Of course, there is the consideration of the various mechas as well. If you are a gundam heavy fan, then SRW won't really satiate your appetite whereas cross rays is like a gundam encyclopedia for the non UC stuff.

Crossrays is more of building a dream team comprised of pilots and mobile suits you've grown attached to and has the interesting, but much more "explosive" damage system revolving around getting and maintaining MP and making full use of steps to clear maps fast.

SRW is more of a typical SRPG, it feels slower and clunkier because you're not planning out how to quickly one shot enemies* but rather how best to keep your mechs alive and grouped together enough to make use of Support Attack/Defense. You can play offensively, but unless you've gotten very far into the game, that will usually end poorly as your frontrunners get decimated due to being outnumbered.

Unfortunately, this divide in concepts means I don't think the two series are really comparable at all beyond featuring a gridmap and mechs.

*assuming you didn't invest all your credits into one mech's weaponry anyway.

SRW is a better balanced game overall, providing more consistent challenge, despite also allowing you to make any unit into a game-breaking one-man-army.

I love Cross Rays but when it comes to challenge it almost had none, making it more about a casual grind for the sake of grinding. However I ended up enjoying Cross Rays more than Genesis, because even though Genesis was better balanced, it really restricted what units you could use due to Mobile Suit stats having more weight, but not giving older suits a leg up with stats upgrades to help keep them on par with newer suits. The leveling was also extremely slow by comparison.

SRW to me is a better blend of Genesis and Cross Rays when it comes to balancing, in that it provides some challenge and has progression that does not immediately hand the game to you on a silver platter like Genesis does, while also letting you build your dream teams and break the game when you put enough time in similar to how Cross Rays does.

I liked cross rays because it basically just follows the story of the animes. 30 has a original story.

Wow. Cross Rays is actually better. I can't believe I'm even saying that.

The lack of even a basic narrative boilerplate in Cross Rays and its total lack of level design outside of a small handful of maps combined with "just throw swarms of trash at the player" is what kills it for me. The Sortie/ship system in Crossrays is amazing as is the development, but the presence of an actual narrative to give a ♥♥♥♥ about and no real goal other than autistically recreating the animes again through a boring slog of trash enemies and smashing toys together and essentially playing make believe means its pretty worthless as a game.

SRW30 having an actual narrative and solid, if not exactly revolutionary gameplay, with better level design that has some actual respect for my damn time gives it the win IMO.

The games do have similarities but are overall pretty different...

SD Gundam-games are more like collectathons and give you way more freedom with building your squads and in what order to approach the content.

SRW is structured more like a mix between a light JRPG and light TBS game. It's a bit like Fire Emblem for Mecha-fans, just without most of the difficulty.

I agree. When I played crossrays I didn't even put it down it had so much content. I loved linking team abilities and using different war ships. Being able to do the side missions for parts and XP. I also liked the battle system much better. Somebody said SRW was more balanced and honestly i'm not seeing it both games have a similar difficulty and with GGCR if you picked the wrong story to early you got crushed.

As a fire emblem player I'm really hating people compare this to it. I hope I never see a fire emblem game like this. This game is more like project cross zone with a tactical battle system.

Honestly the whole lack of story/ narrative is meh. Crossrays has a story you play through the different gundam plots and get to learn about those stories. but with your own cas/ sortie.

The slogs of trash mobs is a issue I find in both games its not exclusive to crossrays. honestly the flow of SRW is talking then mobs, then talking then oh no more mobs. I have yet to play one map where the enemies that were there are the only enemies on the stage.

And as far as better level design..... To each its own.

I can agree with all of this except comparing it to fire emblem.

What difficulty are you playing on? Because if you do play fire emblem you definitely should be playing on Expert

Also which route? Cause space route which is what I'm on doesn't have that many reinforcement stages, and since space route is full of real robots that have to worry about dodging and supporting each other, I can't even call em trash
